SATURDAISIES: I Thought I’d Check In… Selah!

Hello all!

And thank you to those of you who have asked where SATURDAISIES has been the past few weeks. You know what? I’m in a period of rest and reflection right now.

#HopeTour2016 is winding down, although I will continue to speak at churches around the area whenever I’m asked.

My 7th graders are keeping me on my toes, as per usual, as well as all the demands of teaching: committees, cafeteria duty, grading, phone calls, lesson plans… you know the drill.

Geoff and Janesse have moved back home, and we are enjoying them as well as our grand-dog, Salvador.

And life is just insane sometimes.

You can relate.

Pastor Jim at Crossroads here in Nampa recently finished a series called “Selah” and encouraged us to practice Selah. Selah is a musical term that means rest — the place between the notes. Pause. Reflect. We all need it.

Yes, I’m talking to you.

So that’s what I’ve been doing. I have so many plans coming up:

~ Speaking in churches and spreading this message of HOPE! (And may I interject here that our current political climate makes for really fertile ground for my message?)

~ SELAH

~ Breaking away from non-fiction writing to explore another branch of my writing career in young adult fiction

~ SELAH

~ Working to become the best teacher a girl could be for these kiddos I love so much

~ SELAH

~ Making sure Sean-Martin is always loved enough, squeezed enough, and spoiled enough

~ SELAH

~ Hooking up with Holly Chamberlain to create a You Tube Channel for young people — because WE CAN TALK ABOUT HARD THINGS — and be hilarious at the same time

~ SELAH

~ Hanging out with the Flying Minklings… writing and laughing and critiquing and going on retreats and… you know… getting tattoos. Yeah, I said it.

But I’m not giving up SATURDAISIES, believe me. I’ll be posting here. On Saturdays. Every Saturday? Probably not.

I am not shutting down a blog that I’ve had for fifteen years. That’s not going to happen. Thank you to all of you who worried, though!

I’m not going anywhere.

Love you all,

Daisy Rain
